Compare Compact Rocker Switches for Your Panel
Sub-miniature rocker switches provide compact manual control on equipment panels. This category includes eight KCD5 switch products and a related protective-cover range. The switches differ in function, body shape, illumination and terminal direction. Compare the required circuit with the mounting drawing before selecting a version.
Function & Contact Arrangement
ON-OFF versions provide SPST switching. ON-ON versions provide SPDT selection between two connections, while the listed three-position version adds a center OFF position. Two-terminal ON-OFF and three-terminal changeover products are represented. Confirm the contact diagram: an illuminated ON-OFF switch can also have an additional lamp connection.
Panel Fit & Terminal Direction
Round and rectangular snap-in bodies suit different panel openings. A right-angle terminal version is also listed for assemblies where the connection direction matters. Check cutout dimensions, panel thickness, terminal spacing and clearance behind the panel. Similar-looking switches are not necessarily mechanical replacements.
Illumination & Protective Covers
The range includes a lighted round ON-OFF switch as well as non-illuminated products. Specify the required lamp voltage and colour separately from the contact load. The protective-cover page lists WPC-1510 for KCD5-101-series switches and WPC-16 for KCD5-2-series switches; confirm the exact fit before ordering.
Electrical Ratings & Lamp Voltage
The published switch specification tables list 6A at 125VAC and 3A at 250VAC. These AC ratings are reference values for the listed switch versions; the cover accessory has no switching-current rating. Use the current specification for the exact part and load. Where a DC rating is specified, select within that rating; otherwise ask DAIER to confirm the applicable DC specification.
For lighted switches, the lamp supply and the contact switching capacity are separate requirements. A 12V lamp description alone does not define the allowable DC load current. Include operating voltage, current and load type, together with the required lamp supply, in the enquiry.
