Compare Battery Switch Functions, Ratings & Installation

DAIER offers manual battery disconnects, wireless remote cutoffs and selectors for single- and dual-battery systems. Rotary knobs, removable keys, push-pull handles and knife-blade designs provide different ways to operate the circuit. Voltage-sensitive isolators automatically link or separate two batteries according to their switching thresholds.

Control Function

Use an ON-OFF disconnect to isolate one battery circuit. A 1-2-BOTH-OFF selector provides a choice of battery banks. Wireless remote versions allow operation without reaching the switch; voltage display and automatic cutoff are available on specific versions.

DC Voltage & Current

The range includes 12V/24V remote switches and manual versions for 12–48V DC systems, with other voltage options on individual models. Compare the continuous rating for sustained loads and the separate intermittent or cranking rating for short-duration loads. Use the voltage and duty conditions stated for each product.

Mounting & Connections

Choose panel or surface mounting, or a direct top-post or side-post connection. Compare positive or negative installation, clamp dimensions, stud threads and cable access. Mounting brackets and sensing leads are included with particular assemblies.

Battery Connection Accessories

Clamps, post adapters, copper cable lugs and insulating terminal covers support the battery connection. Match these parts by cable size, terminal fit and dimensions; they serve a different purpose from the disconnect switch or battery selector.

Applications

Typical DC Applications

Battery switches support power isolation and battery-bank selection in vehicle and equipment assemblies.

Automotive & Service Vehicles

Provide accessible battery isolation for parked vehicles and maintenance. Manual handles and wireless remote controls suit different installation positions.

Marine & RV Systems

Use an ON-OFF switch for a single battery circuit or a selector for two battery banks. VSR units provide voltage-controlled battery linking.

Equipment & OEM Assemblies

Match panel controls, battery-post connections, cable lugs and terminal covers to repeatable power layouts in machinery and vehicle assemblies.

An ON-OFF disconnect controls one battery circuit. A 1-2-BOTH-OFF selector chooses between two battery banks or connects both. A voltage-sensitive relay links and separates batteries at its specified voltage thresholds. Choose the function and wiring diagram for the system.

Use the continuous current rating for sustained loads. Intermittent and cranking ratings apply to shorter duty periods, which vary by model. Confirm the rating at the intended DC voltage together with the duration and load requirements; a peak value is not the continuous capacity.

Panel-mounted versions connect through cable lugs and terminal studs. Direct-post versions fit a top or side battery post and may be intended for positive or negative installation. Compare the drawing, clamp dimensions, stud threads and space for the cables.

Wireless ON-OFF operation is available across the remote range. Some versions also provide a voltage display, low-voltage cutoff or remote lockout while charging. Select the feature set and operating voltage shown for the specific version.

Send the part number and quantity. For help choosing a switch, add the system voltage, load and preferred control or mounting arrangement. For connection accessories, include the cable size and terminal dimensions.
